You may have to adjust to these changes, but they can make all the difference, particularly in bedrooms and living areas. You’ll present what a more open and roomy environment.
2. Focus on Important Rooms
The entryway, the living room, the family room, the kitchen, the master bedroom. These are essential to potential buyers. Focus your efforts primarily, at least at first, on staging these rooms. All rooms matter, but the most important should be treated as such.
3. Rearrange the Furniture
If the arrangement of your furniture feels stale and boring, it may look that way to others as well. Consider changing the arrangement to play up features of the room, to deemphasize weaknesses, and to appear more spacious and open.
4. Don’t Neglect the Outside
All your staging efforts will fall short if no one comes into the house. Make sure your lawn is mowed, your paint isn’t chipping, your curb is clean, and so on. “Curb appeal” matters. You will bring people in only in the numbers in which you attract them, so make your home look attractive inside and out!
5. Focus on Light
Your home should present as bright and clean. Open the blinds and curtains, turn on the lights, replace dead bulbs, and add new lights as necessary. If the home feels dark and dingy no one will be enticed to buy.
