The new year has officially kicked off and the hottest home building trends to look out for are in. Home trends change from year to year, and many people consider doing renovations or remodels to keep their homes up to date. If you’re considering building a new home in 2018, consider the below fads to make your home relevant and hip.

White Flooring

While many consider white flooring as being hard to maintain and keep clean, this is a big trend that we expect to see this year in home building. Think white hardwoods in living spaces and white tile in bathrooms. Even in rooms with darker walls, white flooring really brightens up a space and matches with just about all colors of paint and furniture.

Rustic Bathrooms

While ultra-modern, sleek bathrooms were once the trend, rustic installations in restrooms are what’s hot in 2018. Wood accents, old world style bathtubs and fixtures with a brushed finish are all ways people are converting their restrooms to the rustic look. Whether it may be home building or remodeling, the majority are requesting a rustic flair to their custom homes.

Textured Wallpaper

Textured pattern wallpaper is another home building trend that is being seen in 2018. Think florals, fleur-de-lis or even abstract shapes that are used to really make a statement in any given room. Many people are requesting textured wallpaper as opposed to regular paint this year. Textured wallpaper can also be considered a giant 3D piece of artwork, and people are really able to spruce up their spaces if used correctly with the right color scheme.
