Moab
When it comes to camping in Southern Utah, Moab is a world-famous destination due to its staggering red rock formations and warm climate. If you want to camp here, there are public campsites along Willow Springs Road. The land is owned by the Bureau of Land Management, so it is well kept and available for use by the public.
Capital Reef National Park
Another breathtaking campsite is located just before the entrance of Capital Reef National Park. Just off of Highway 24, there is a flowing river with campsites along it. The sound of the water will soothe you at night, and you will be just a short mile away from the entrance of the park, giving you easy access to some of Southern Utah’s most breathtaking scenery.
Escalante Southern Utah
Escalante is a quaint little town that is perfect for a weekend getaway, and also very accessible to the National Parks that surround it. Just off of Hole in the Rock Road, you will find a plethora of campsites located near the highway, allowing that perfect balance of being immersed in the wilderness while still having access to the amenities of town. You need to obtain a permit to camp here, but the permits are free by registering at the Escalante Visitor’s Center.
